Question about opening links in new tabs/windows

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post but I can't seem to find an answer to my problem just by Googling it.
Since the latest automatic update to Internet Explorer, I can no longer drag and drop links into new tabs which is really irritating.
I can right-click to open links in new tabs/windows but I want to know if this leaves a trail to the site I came from ie MSE? Or is it the same as dragging and dropping where the site you end up on cannot see the referral site history?
Does that make sense?
Thank you in advance

Ok, can I check, are you concerned that you (the person at the computer) should not be able to click back to the website that the original link was on, or are you concerned that the website you are now on does not know where the referral came from?
Because if your concern is about the website, then no amount of opening in new tabs or windows will clear the refferal link. You need to manually edit the URL to remove the link. That's nothing to do with your web browser, it's coded in the bit that begins http://
If your concern is about you not wanting to be able to click back, then switch on privacy, then every time you close your browser, the history is cleared.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0
