I received a parking charge notice back in November. I appealed it. I complained to the supermarket and Athena. They have now sent another letter saying I have the option of paying the outstanding charge or advising who the driver was at the time.
It also says that my appeal was rejected as explained in their last letter. I never received this letter. The last correspondence I had with them was them acknowledging my appeal.
Do I need to do anything or just ignore it?
Just editing to say that I emailed appealing on 27 November (incident date was 12 November) and they responded 2 January.

Do not ignore it. Definitely NO POPLA CODE or form?
If not, reply and say you have never received a rejection letter nor POPLA code/form and so can they now forward a valid code to you for the second stage, or a copy of the letter they sent before if they are contending that a POPLA code was already generated - as you wish to see it and refer a complaint to the BPA. Say that the driver will not be divulged and that as keeper, you simply require a valid POPLA code/form, as is your right.
What happened with the Supermarket complaint? Time to rattle the Manager's cage about it AGAIN?! Or an email to the CEO.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No definitely nothing. This was the thread I created on it previously for reference https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4822289
The supermarket just replied saying basically saying it wasn't their problem and that I need to take it up with Athena.0 -
if they are the landowner they are jointly liable due to the fact they should have a contract with the PPC agent
might be worth sending them a strongly worded letter pointing this out, also mentioning that in their contract it should have a get out clause that allows the landowner to cancel tickets , ask them for a copy of it so you can check it, that should rattle them (they wont send it of course) but its always worth mentioning that you may require a copy of this should it go to court, for the judge to read !! lol0 -
You can beat Athena at POPLA but when you get your code, do be careful to go strong on the 'no contract with landowner' paragraph because we have seen Athena fail to show a full contract with Lidl that actually mentions that specific store site. They've lost at POPLA on that point, you might like to look through the POPLA decisions thread to find the one(s) I mean where they just produced a random witness statement from Lidl which said...nothing really except they were an agent of Lidls in some car parks in the UK.
So push for the POPLA code and be ready to report them to the BPA if they don't send you one. If they send you a copy of a letter with an old POPLA code on it then compare it to this and urgently find out the date of it:
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/what-does-my-popla-code-mean.html
Should be interesting if they are daft enough to pretend to have sent a POPLA code like UKPC did:
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/ukpc-and-time-travelling-popla-code.html
HTH, follow this up quickly in case there's a 28-day 'ticking POPLA code' already in play.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks, I'll reply now. I'm also going to complain to the supermarket and ask for contact details so that I can complain to the CEO. My friend said that she got a ticket for overstaying in there but it got cancelled as she had recently had an operation on her foot. They obviously aren't feeling quite so lenient with me!0

Follow CM's advice regarding getting the POPLA code from Athena and follow up complaints to the BPA and DVLA if necessary.if they are the landowner they are jointly liable due to the fact they should have a contract with the PPC agent

Regarding your complaint to Lidl's - did you complain directly to the store or head office?
Lidl's stores are usually self-contained but occasionally there are other stores on the site - so if this is the situation here - then find out who the owners are.
When making the complaint again make sure you empahasise that at the time you were covered by the Equality Act.0 -
In your other thread I gave you links about cases being cancelled by the MD of Lidl so surely you already have the contact details from those links? And I had forgotten you were covered by the Equality Act 2010 and so were legally allowed to take longer as you were either pregnant or having recently given birth (maternity protection under the Act). Tell Lidl, like in this complaint to Morrisons that worked in days:

I read those and I did say about the driver being covered by the Equality Act. Didn't look at the contact details though. I emailed their customer services. Should I forward my emails to the MD then?0 -
Yep because the 2 examples were both cancelled by the MD and I expect the threads name him/give his email.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
