How do I take my exes name off my credit file? It says I am connected to him. I don't want him to know where I live , will that alert him when I go to take him off?

You can only take someone off your credit report if they are no longer financially associated to you.
If you have no financial associations (Mortgage/loans/accounts etc) then you can ask the credit reference agencies to remove you.
And no they should not notify them that you have been removed.0 -
I've just had to the same tonight, amazes me what shows up as a connection! Never had anything joint with my ex but when he worked abroad I was authorised to deal with his bank.
Hope you get yours sorted.0 -

You need to file a notice of disassociation with a Equifax, Experian and Call Credit.
Best ask if it would alert them, but I would think it would not. That would probably break data protection.:beer:0 -

Really?? I did not know that and just notified noodle.
In my case we split up four years ago and haven't lived at the same address for just as long. Does it just last forever unless you tell the otherwise?0 -
Yes, it can last for a long time.
I have my OH on there, which was last confirmed over 6 years ago when we opened our joint account.
If we close the account, the association won't just go
Check all 3 agencies to see if its on there, you can get a statutory report from each for £2. You then need to file the disassociation if its on there.:beer:0 -

We didn't even have a joint account that is the thing, it was an ex and way after we split and lived at different addresses he was working abroad and asked me to manage his money with Barclays for him. So I was a named person on his account but it was never explained it was a joint account, I had no access to a card or anything. He had a lot of money going in and they were very obliging but explained nothing!
Very strange.
I have notified Noodle, Equifax can't even find me and Esperian I will need to try and tackle!
Just surprised that after the account is closed and years later it is still there!0
