Help with my electric bill please

Im hoping that some of you kind members may be bale to help me.
My recent elec bill states that since 13th April to 2 June we have used 608 day units and 127 econonmy 7 units.
I simply cannot believe that we are using this much. I live with my hubby and 2 year old.
Mon-Fri the house between 9-5 isnt occupied.
We have a elec oven but not top which I probabily use for an hour a week.
No dishwasher. Washing machine and tumble drier if needed is 9/10 times run on economy 7.
Our water is heated by gas.
We only have 1 tv in the house. The house is 2 bed. We do have a fridge and a fridge freezer.
The only thing that I can think of that could be draining us is our computer. Its about 4 years old and a e machine. Hubby does do a lot of work on it in the evenings and a lot of downloading.
Lights are only used when needed.
I know the metre isnt faulty as its brand new (fitted 13 April)
Could it be the computer its probabily on for 5 hours a day and more at weekends?
Im with N Powers who are the cheapest where I am. They have offered me a
card metre with a £8 a month standing charge and then all units are 8.81p
It wont be long till im only on maternity money (baby number 2 due Christmas day:T )
But at this rate we will be lighing my candles
Thanks in advance for any help

First off, is your electric bill estimated or based on actual readings?
If it is estimated then send off your actual readings and get an accurate bill.
Second, read your meter and repeat in 24 hours after a typical days usage, you'll then know roughly what you are using on a daily basis, do it after a week as well to improve the accuracy.
You are then in a position to identify where you are using most electricity. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
608 day units and 127 E7 units in 7 weeks is higher than average, but not excessive.
The computer will probably use about 1 unit a day running for that amount of time - say 50 units.
A fridge and fridge freezer can use quite a lot.0 -
Hi guys thanks for your responces.
The bill is not estimated but that amount is only for 50 days usgae.
I have started to use an electric diary to see if we can see whats happening2007 is my getting slim year

you need to get the meter changed from economy seven which you are not using. The elec company will not tell you this but will do it for free, economy seven only works for you if you have storage heating otherwise you are paying way over the oddsSave 12k in 2020 #19 £12,429.06/£14,0000

We did this last month as we wernt using hardly any leccy at night. Our suppliers changed it for free. I'm yet to see the difference on our bills though.
Our supplier said E7 is for people with storage heaters/swimming pools or who do loads and loads of washing at night.Just owe Dad £2500 for a new car

60 units in one day is alot.
I live in a 4 bedroom house and only use on average 60/70 daytime units a week.
I would ask the electric company to check your meter.
EDIT: Washing machine and dishwaher only go on at night as we have Economy 7.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
