Bought copied cds

Hi guys, recently got a new stereo, total bargain £25 for a brand new car stereo with built in sat nav. Only problem was the navagationg disc was german.

Bought a GB disc from ebay to use in the sat nav for £19.50. It was a copie and wouldnt work.

I have emailed the guy and he said that he never said in the listning that they where genuine the work fine, he has agreed to refund me but says hes going on holiday for 2 weeks,

I was just wondering what the time limit was for filing a dispuite on ebay? Is it 30 or 60 days. Its been 2 weeks already as it took a week to arive and have been trying to get it to work a few days, Im just concerned that hes tryig to string this out, Thanks

I would start the dispute now especially if you paid by Paypal.
Last time I used it it was 30 days.

I will send back tomorrow then. I won them on 13th June, I will wait till 28 days after in case I get a refund. Thanks

Surely if he didn't state there were genuine then he shouldn't have been selling warez anyhow, not that Fleebay care at all about copyright matters when it suits them

I would be having words with the guy hinting around copyright theft and the police. If he plays silly beggars contact the manufacturers and give his details.

He is selling alot of these cds, all selling from £10-£20 so has a nice little money earner going!

The cds where for the blaupunkt travel pilot , Because my stereo is for the german market I didnt get a uk disc for it. Unfortunatly I dont have a genunine disc to try out in it. But one of they says cd read error when I insert it and the other wont load the route. Normal music cds work fine,

Just as clarification, there is now only a paypal claim possible as ebay claims have been withdraen. However the paypal claim can be started up to 45 days from payment.

Also as others have already said selling any form of copied media is illegal in the UK.
