I don't believe you have any rights for them to offer a free return under DSR. They have to refund the cost and original postage but if the T's and C's say you have to pay for the return then you do.

    Returning M&S Outlet Online orders
M&S are unable to process any returns directly or offer returns or refunds in our M&S Outlet or M&S stores for Outlet items bought online. To return an item, please indicate the reason for return on the parcel summary and return this with your parcel. Once we receive the item back, we will process your refund, usually within 3-5 working days. If your return is due to our error, we will also pay the cost of returning the item to us and this will be included in your refund.

You have the right to cancel your order unconditionally. You have a right to a full refund, taking no more than 30 days. You have no rights to free return postage costs if the seller states this in their terms.

Seems fair to me - seller pay outbound; buyer pays inbound.

But you do get original postage refund yes, that then compensates the return postage then?

    buy item for £10
    pay £3 postage
    £13
    Return item at £3 cost
    total cost £16
    Get a refund of £13
