Pippi's absoutely right - straight into the pub it shall be! (Psstt....Pips - we'll be in the Ferry Inn!)

MG - thank you, and thanks to DS1 too. Plenty more on the website, if he'd like to see more! I *think* the linky is in my profile somewhere. :)

Greying - I hope I've solved your birdy mystery! As for the beer - I shall certainly be trying to - see paragraph one above for confirmation of this fact! :D

Caz - Brilliant! I've messaged you!

    Mooo - will do! :D

Actually, messaging Caz, I was reminded that my nonchalant "not a lot to report" earlier on might not have been entirely accurate. Remember I was long-term borrowing that camera, with a view to buying it? Well my friend has had a change of plan, and won't now be selling it, so it's going back. She let me know last Wednesday, and I immediately started thinking what to do next. I was reckoning on paying around the £400 mark for that one - AND would have been budgeting £200-ish for it to be serviced at the end of this summer too. I looked at second hand ones online and the decent ones were around £600...so I took a look at the two companies selling into the UK from Hong Kong. One of them was selling the camera brand new, for £649. Several deep breaths and a quick recce of the savings account later, and I'm now the proud owner of a shiny new one all of my very own. :o It was bought on the cashback card - and I'll be transferring the dosh over from savings to pay for it when the statement arrives. Having used it at rugby on saturday, and pottering around with the macro lens on it on Sunday, I can say I have NO regrets at all - it's a stunning bit of kit, and the new one even better than the one I was borrowing. :T

I do need to do something about selling one of the old camera bodies though - the oldest of the bunch went off to a very good cause to take pictures of helicopters a couple of weeks ago (And I got a rather fab visit to a helipad as a result!) - which means I've now got three sitting here. My previous regular one will stay as my back-up body, and for MrEH to use, and the other one will need selling. It won't fetch much, but anything it makes can go towards replacing my depleted (OK, emptied!) savings.

Depending on type and price, PM me on FB. I was thinking about getting a new camera before my holiday but common sense intervened. I might be able to ignore the sensible voices if it's a good deal :D

Mooo....will do - I have a pal who's currently got first refusal, but I'll let you have the details anyway and then if you're interested I'll give her a nudge to make her mind up. :D

Caz - I know! There are rumours of a 7DmkII on the horizon, which I think is why new prices have dropped a bit even in the UK, but I was astonished that I could get one for that price! Astonished - and delighted! :D MUCH rather have new than second hand - even if it's a second hand I know has been cared for - but that one WAS very high on the shutter count and I now know that there were a few other issues with it now too.
