as title- phone is about 4 months old, powers up when charger lead connected, but only to show 'low battery' - not charging as normal?
the conenctor port also feels very hot- have unplugged for now, just in case. the inner casing appears to have melted slightly.
is this normal? replacable as faulty?

is this when using the charger that came with it or do you use a third party one?
If it's the original, then I'd definitely look at getting it replaced as faulty. As it's only four months old it'll still be under warranty and, being less than six months, SOGA is on your side if you're met with resistance.
If you've used a third party charger then i have no idea where you stand. Sorry i can't be more help, i've not experienced this myself but if it's melted then there's definitely something up with the hardware. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
