I think my PC has just died... any help please

So won't Service Pack 1 come as part of the usual Windows updates? i.e. Once Vista is reinstalled and download updates take place, will SP1 be part of that lot?
If not, why not - if I reinstall Vista from the recovery disk wouldn't install the lot?
