Out early this morning to do the shop in A1di and it came to £23.13
We had bacon, egg and tomatoes with oatcakes earlier so will just have a snack for tea tonight.
Hope everyone is getting some of the sunshine that's about.

Been to M's with father after he treated me to a luscious carvery, spent £11.15 but actually only £3.16 to add to the total as the rest comes from the cleaning/toiletries budget and my personal spends(!)

Sig now up to date. Actually going to try and not shop again this week, we have plenty of meal items etc in so its just discipline really - bulk buy shop won't count as that's already accounted for.

Think I need to find a new way of accounting for the pet and bulk buy budgets, at least whilst I'm on maternity leave as we never shop for those items monthly/at regular intervals. I think the key might be to off set them against my grocery budget (so permanently shift from 120 to 90/100) and just account for them as an when. With the new cooker we are finding we eat a wider variety of meal so need to shop for chicken breasts/mince (the biggest expenses in the bulk shop) less and less so the more I think about doing this the more sense it makes. Hoping to stretch the next bulk shop out over the whole six months of my maternity leave so will get usual amount of chicken but extra mince, toilet rolls as they are on offer (big packs bog of) even though we still have over a months worth in, laundry products (we are starting to need these but they do last longer than the food) and I may look at some of the flour/baking items (will store at my parents in the garage [in a plastic box]) too as we can split those and 'shop' from my parents garage/freezer!

ETA: Argh only £21.08 of the budget left! More than do-able just have to keep focused!!

Third week in for me, spends as follows:-
    Aldi £20.09 / Morrisons £30.77 / Butchers £20.08
    = £70.94
Over spent this week, but I topped up with some spices and herbs to help with buying less packet mixes and some other bits and bobs we needed extra too that we wouldn't normally.
To stop in budget I have only £25 for next week's shop, which I know I won't do. But will try and stick as close to as I can.
First month at the challenge so I did guess my budget. I think when I go back over all my receipts for the month I might be able to see where I could bring our monthly food spend closer to the budget.

A nice cheap week - £29.23 - looks like my previous weeks of bulk buying when things I normally buy are cheap is starting to pay off.

Will be another NSD today... Family really poorly. DS has a really bad cold, gooey eyes and everything so he's just on lots of fluids and may make some fresh OJ with some oranges I have :)

Ladyluck Hope the family feel better soon. It's horrible when they're poorly isn't it.

£2.65 to add for a sandwich and drink today, last day away thankfully but am pleased it cost me so little in food (last nights dinner aside).
