Thanks for the new thread and welcome to the new ones joining us.

busy meal planning for March but brain seems to be on a go slow so will leave it for now and try again tomorrow.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Can I join for this month please? I am hoping to stick to £300 for March 1st - March 31st. I have reasonable stocks in the freezer but will need to buy fresh stuff - milk bread f&v etc.Jane

Hi skintmum, don't mean to pry but the £106 on formula and nappies seems very high, is that for more than 1 month? I have a 9 month old and a 2 year old and get the formula for the little one and nappies for both and wipes for £75 a month maximum. Have you tried aldi nappies? They are great and only £4.50 for a massive pack, which usually last me 10 days. Little one is on follow on milk now so is only £8 a week, but before was on the comfort which was £10 a pot which lasted a week, even then was only spending £80-£85 for the lot including 2yr olds nappies as well. Like I said, dont mean to pry, just curious as it may be an area you could make cutbacks from. x
I dont think your prying at all if I wanted to keep things private I would not post on here in the first place so feel free to comment give advise anything that helps bring things down.
My little boy is my 3rd baby the other 2where breast fed so I did not have a clue where to begin when my little boy could not breast feed due to tounge tie and other health issues. I was really worried I would get making the bottles wrong some how and hurt him. So what I do is buy 1 pot of formula for 10 pound a week and 10 instant bottles a week for when we are out at a cost of 71 pound a month this month I also got 12 packs of baby wipes and 3 boxes of pampers nappys boots where buy 2 get one free. I know aldi nappies are good I dont really know what's wrong with me this time my other 2 have always had cheap good nappys and clothes from charity shops and carboots. This time my son must have what I think of As the best nappies and everything new even buying anything new from shops I have to take it home and wash it first as I am scared of germs. My excuse is we almost lost my son when he was 6 weeks old and it destroyed me.February GC £261.97/24 NSDS 10/12

evening all, well after getting a bit lost on the feb challenge (though still think I did it.......just!) so am going to aim for £225 for a 5 week month, going to be difficult as have a mr t order coming on Friday for about £100, all seems to be tins and household stuff, no real food, shocking!
still making my own bread but seem to be stuck in a rut of making your standard white/wholemeal loaf ( so very VERY good for sandwiches) so if any of you have any good recipes for different flavoured breads that are still good for sandwiches please let me know
well good luck everyone and don't forget to let me know about the bread!
thanks

a 31 day month means a budget of £244.18 for me please
That's food only (and soft drinks / milk / tea bags /coffee - I don't do alcohol or have any pets, and have a different budget for cleaning products and toiletries) for me full time, DS1 7 main meals and 4x4pt milk every 2 weeks, and OH every Saturday evening plus 2 Sunday lunches and evening meals every 3 weeks. This month it's also got to cover a few days away (self catering) as OH and I are heading up to the Lakes on 28th for a food festival that weekend. Currently booked to come home on 31st, but OH has now booked that week off work so we may stay on a while longer (in which case some food for early April will also have to come out of March's budget as we take up as much as we can due to the high prices round where we stay).
I've not done badly at using up some of my store cupboard and freezer mountains since the start of the year (which means I've actually got a fair surplus of grocery money at the moment), and am going to challenge myself to use at least one thing that's been lurking every weekday (and the Sundays I don't cater lunch for OH). Shouldn't be too difficult looking at the shelf space currently taken up with instant soup in a mug sachetsCheryl0 -

Skintmum that must have been a horrendous time for you :(Bless his cotton socks.
Only spent £2 today. Still need to sort out lunch for work tomorrow! Can't believe how fast the evening has gone. Promised myself an early night too! Think I'll be putting my cold feet on OH!Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -

I know it's a long month but I've a little in the 'kitty' to get a butcher's order and then need to get organised and creative and use stuff in freezers. Going to try for at least 15 NSDs this month.
As the phrase goes 'I'll be back' but my month finishes on 28th so still on February page.
See you all soon - have a super scrimping week
