Had some spend the past few days.
Asd* on apples £2.35
M*rrisons Sure I have had a spend ....
Lidl £12 odd including four tins of tuna and toilet rolls
These spends have helped me avoid doing a big shop at the mo which would have added to double, so I don't mind that I've possibly spenta bit more on the loo rolls. Was going to spend £10 for 30 at Asda, but then would have had to spend another £30 on top.
Will update sig once I have properly worked out receipts, which will probably be tomorrow when I am off work. I have til the 4th of April and about £80 left, so easy doable.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £123.74/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I see Lidl have potatoes at £2.99 for 7.5 kg this week. A fab deal but I think that size would probably take a couple of months to get through. I keep my potatoes in a brown bag in the cupboard but still they start sprouting/going soft after a week or so. Is there anyway of making them last longer.

That's my budget gone for March! Went to get milk and picked up olive oil, squash, and a pasta bake sauce as well. Made flapjacks last night as I have a friend visiting tomorrow, and will make bread rolls for lunches this week too.
Someone asked about spending at the end of the month and which month it counted for - I've yet to come in under budget, so any overspend gets taken off of next months budget, so anything I buy in the last week tends to end up on next months GC. Does make it more difficult as I'm already starting on the back foot, but it's not as if my bank account resets itself on the 1st, so I can't give myself the full amount for April if I've overspent in March.New graduate trying to get debt-free.

Went £2 over budget this week but to be fair we brought eldests tin of milk which was £9 and will last for about a month and we brought 8 chicken breasts for £7.50 when we already have 4 so they are both going straight in the freezer for next week. :-) Should *hopefully* have a cheap week next week ...plus OH put £7 worth of extras in.
Next week I will use the excuse it's the last credit card shopping week so fingers crossed for another £50...:D
Sooo running total estimated; £188/£300 :-)
Not bad for saying one week left.People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
I have lost count of the NSDs but haven't been near a grocery shop for days so all going well. Thanks to an idea from a poster on the April GC I have altered my sig to show yearly spend to date and the average spent per month. This is because with only 2 of us to cater for lots of the shopping spreads over more than 1month so this way it reflects that.
I am going to try to eat from stock between now and the end of the month. I think I can do it.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -
Loads of YS items this week. Yesterday 2 packs of prawns for 36p each, 2 salads for 10p each, 3 packs finest scones for 14p each, another 12p cauliflower and 2 loaves of soda bread for 16p each. All for £2.
:beer:It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
Another couple of NSDs here, so going well at the moment.
DH left at dawn this morning to go chasing tuna. I like to get up with him and make his lunch, fill the thermos etc and just check that everything is prepared, so am feeling a little tired right now. With the colder weather, the tuna season is just about over, so the guys are hoping to catch enough to last until next summer. They have been very successful so far, but a few more would be great.
Once the tuna run ends, they will be back to fishing for more conventional snapper, cod etc.
Neighbour arrived with a large pig yesterday, bartered for grazing, took a couple of hours to process and pack, but now have over 60 meals of pork in the freezer. I think that pork chops will be on the menu tonight. Decided not to make sausages or salamis with any of it, as the duck shooting season is about to start, and I make salamis etc for several friends who are hunters in exchange for a share of the meat.
Harvest and preserving are in full swing, made 10 kg of tomato soup which is also in the freezer, so another busy few days have been had.
Also made 6kg of beef and blue vein cheese sausages which have worked out really well. Finished the last of the goose and port wine sausages yesterday, which was an experiment I don't think I will repeat, a little too exotic for our taste!
Cattle beast is due to meet the butcher in a fortnight, and need to buy another freezer to cope. One beast will last us a year for beef, the pork will also last until the end of the year, also have a couple of months worth of lamb and venison, so hopefully the only protein we will have to buy this year will be chicken and bacon.0 -
Spend of £15.71 at Lid. Annoyed - they didn't have the baked beans that were on offer.
For dinner we had HM Allsorts Pie + roast potatoes + roasted cauliflower/peppers/onions. I made a mess of serving up the pie.
