Also took a look at the frozen salmon fillets that are on offer (£10.29/kg), and came to the conclusion the packs of 4 (360g) healthy eating fillets on a 'buy 2 for' offer at Mr T until 5th March are are a better price per kg (£8.33/kg) - plus I've used those before, and they cook brilliantly from frozen whereas I don't know if the Costc0 ones can be.Cheryl0

OH stocked up on the bacon.
The equivalent at Mr T is a twin pack (2x250g) on offer at 3 for £10 - which makes 6 packs £20
Costc0 has 2 packs of three 250g twin packs on offer for £8.98
DS2 wants me to get him some of the Tetley teabags - 3x240g for £8.49 instead of 240 for £4 on Mr T's offer (normal price £5.79)
OH and I regularly pick up the Y0rkshire tea bags. 480 for £5.89. Mr T wants £10.99 for the same item.Cheryl0 -
£25.56 on meat for the week from the butchers (including some yummy chicken breasts with sweet chilli and lime for tea which we are having with hm sweet potato fries and buttered leeks, a weird combo but I am pregnant
). Also included in today's spends was a frivolous coffee and cake with the teeny terror at soft play and a packet of monster munch as bribery to get him back into the car.

Might buy them and freeze some of the ham (the lettuce should be fine) will see what I can get whilst on my lunch break today. Will get large Yorkshire puddings today as well
Planning NSDs Sunday-Wednesday with bf away. Currently need a few bits before he goes: squash (definite as he takes some with him), sliced malt loaf, milk, pasta and crisps for bf. Might try and get that stuff on saturday
Rest of the month all I can see us needing is:
Pasta sauce, small block of cheese for grating, sliced beetroot, sweet corn, cucumber, potatoes, onions, oven chips, garlic bread and probably one more 4pt milk.
!
Ended up hitting the sm at just the right time with dad this afternoon. Got a few bits 'off list' but I'm happy with what I managed to get:
3 huge Yorkshires £1 (40p ea or 3 for £1)
300g fresh diced pineapple down from £2 to 25p
Robinsons squash 74p - half price. don't usually buy this one but they don't stock anything like I usually get from a different sm
smoked ham £2
aersol cream £1.10
round lettuce 57p
reduced pack of mr kipling slices 39p
£6.05 added to sig
bf has ordered the new cooker to arrive and be fitted on Saturday so it's even earlier than I thought that we will have it ready to cook with! Yay
can see about £11 more of stuff we need to go to the end of the month...hmm maybe I was too optimistic with myself************************************

Small spend today of £4.84 and another small one for the local food bank, this comes from a different pot though. I am so lucky to be in a position to be able to help even in a small way. Our local churches have joined together to form the Food Bank.
Think that's all for today...am very tired. DH has given me a small 'telling off' for doing too much in the last few days...he says I have to pace myself more!
BTW I joined a group on face book for slow cooker recipes, and it's brilliant! I never knew you could make some of the recipes, I think I shall be making even more stuff in mine.
Take care all xA family that eats together, stays together

Hopefully I have done my main shopping for the month. I used a £9 plus some vouchers on a T shop. The whole thing came to £74.60.
If I need anything for the rest of the month it will only be fresh veg and fruit but hopefully there will be enough frozen veg in the freezer to tide me over.
I have loads in - don't need any meat and I've enough cake making stuff to sink a battle ship - so should be OK

Just adding Tues and Weds spends to total. (Asda Cafe £2.50 and Tesco £5.04), now at £42.06/£80.00 - Sounds scary given i have until 28th!! BUT... I've got so much food in I can't decide what to have for dinner!
I'm definitely going to add lentils to 'mince type' dishes to bulk them out and happily my son is having school dinners for the forseeable so a light evening meal suits him fine. I'm confident i will have pennies left ...:o52 Week Challenge: £21/£1376

£8.22spend in Mr T ... took advantage of the BOGOF passata with olives in (took the last six off the shelf), daisy air freshener (as super cheap and nice smell), a drink (as had nothing all day at work), some polish choc, choc hot cross buns (dying to try these) and Quorn roast ( as Mr A never seem to have it in stock lately).
Also spent £1 on 1% milk in C*-*p
Off to make Carbonara now for tea. Will catch up properly on the thread later.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £25.25/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I love being able to donate to the food bank but it comes out of my food budget, I look for really good offers and reduced tins and save them up then donate once a month. I am very lucky where I live as have access to very good reductions so if I save quite a bit on my budget then I can afford to buy a few things for the food bank. This month so far I have tins of fruit reduced to 10p to donate I ws also given loads of tins of out of date corned beef and
pilchards etc and although the food bank cannot give them out there is a table that you can leave them on with a notice that they are out of date and inviting people to help themselves.Slimming World at target0 -
Just made the self saucing microwave chocolate cake from the index (boodles recipe from Aug 2009) and oh my word it was good - tasty and very quick to knock up just using store cupboard bits. Will add a tad more water to the top next time to try for more sauce but yummy :-)************************************
