Another NSD yesterday and hopefully again today, starting to run low on milk though, should hopefully make it through to tomorrow.
[Grocery spend only as I did have to buy new school trousers and school shoes for DS and he has recently become very very fussy about the style !! have always got away with telco/george school trousers but not any more!!]
Pot roast last night was a big hit. Just made some fresh egg pasta to roll out later for lasagna (meat sauce made with turkey mince yesterday and bechamel sauce cooking) so I just need to put it all together with some added mozzarella and parmesan.
Also going to make a double chocolate loaf cake later when the oven is on cooking the lasagna.
Leftover pot roast for lunch for me!!

£3.50 on cheese added on. LO loves cheese so we don't dare be without any in the house! OH does the cooking in this house and he's working 16 hour shifts with no days off for the forseeable future so I doubt we'll be spending much more on groceries this week - the freezer supply will have to be called into action.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

It is to feed 4 people, 2 adults and 2 bottomless pit teens. I have planned our meals for the rest of this week so far and will then look at what we have left. We won't starve but we could just be eating turkey curry and rice a lot the last 2 weeks
It just seems as most of my budget has went on staples and toiletries this month. Even our toilet roll and soap powder mountains ran out
Thank you for your reply,it means a lot and I might take you up on the offer to post when I get stuck at the end of the month if that is alright? :A
Cheer up Hun I am sure you will manage it, if you have to go a bit over, look at the bigger picture, you were way way under last month £75 wasn't it.Slimming World at target0 -

Got an unexpected surprise today, £20 from my niece, this was for beef that was on offer in December she asked me to get her some as none in her local. I took her 2 big joints but she didn't have the money on her when we met so I told her it would do next time I saw her and I forgot all about it. I bought this out of Christmas budget so will put it
in this years Christmas pot.
Got a another surprise when I took the reduced liver 25p bought on xmas eve out of freezer as really fancy liver and onions for dinner. but itturns out to be kidney. Really must take my glasses when I go shopping. Oh well will have a rummage for some diced beef and make steak and kidney, but I really really want liver and onions:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
not a nsd for me car goes through mot tomorrow so sitting in garage now getting dolled up maybe new tyres aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh and a few bits more hopefully nothing big! so worried I was like you worried over feeding my family good nutritious food and cheaply and had to sit myself down and slap my face! I had to tell myself not EVERY meal HAS to be restaurant quality meat and 3 veg etc and see when I realised yeah maybe scrambled eggs and beans and toast is not a great meal for a working man to come home to in the evening it is OK once a week with fruit and jelly for afters. I had it in my head every dinner HAD to be big and spicy/flavoursome. and when I told my hubby he agreed he said some nights he didn't want chicken in spices or meat and 3 veg he wanted a boiled egg or a toastie sometimes I think we are too hard on ourselves . I always say a bag of spuds a chicken a tray of eggs ,bread and some fruit and WHATEVER else is in cupboard will suffice if its a bad week, makes chicken sandwiches, omlettes, chips etc.hthC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

Just wondering if you had any recipes for making marmalade? I started making blackberry jam last autumn from ample supplies I discovered near our house. DH goes through a jar of marmalade every 10-14 days and he doesn't like the cheap stuff either so would love to know if I could make it myself for a reasonable cost!
This is the recipe I use - pretty much foolproof!

Doing a satisfying bath cook this morning. I have leek and potato soup on one hob and a big pressure cooker full of pasta/pizza sauce on another, going to use some of the p/p sauce to make up bolognase and then some of that will go into a lasagne big enough for 5 tonight (have a friend over for dinner) and 4 portions to go in the freezer. I ffind cooking quite therapeutic nd love doing things which i can make in bigger quantities and freeze as feels like I am saving time which has to be the next best thing to having a time machine?? The boys were asking this morning or wheatabix (which they have run out of) so having a it of an internal argument about whether to loose a SFD going to get some or making them use up some of the other cereals we have and getting wheatabix when they actually need more cereal??? Anyway time to get back to the stove.Debt as at January 2014 £13,546.84Current £11,485.15 - 15.42% paid - moving in the right directionDebt free date [STRIKE]Jan 2016 Dec 2015[/STRIKE] Nov 2015MMH 35 - SFD 8/15 FB 266.46/240 T-O 0/0 donation 3/£3 LTW 8/10 exercise 12/12 neighbour favour?
