I think the answer might be Ventnor Downs - http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ventnor-downs/visitor-information/. Culver Down is closer to Sandown from what I remember, although I admit I don't know that side of the Island particularly well.
Any Islanders able to confirm?Back after a very long break!0 -
On the hotels website it says thatThe Isle of Wight offers a wide variety of places to visit, spectacular walks and plenty of activities such as sailing, horse riding or just relaxing by the beach – the ideal holiday destination. Ventnor itself is sheltered from the north by the National Trust owned St. Boniface Down, so it benefits from its’ own micro-climate making it one of the sunniest places in the British Isles.
So I have gone with that. Fingers crossed!!Best Wins: Hotpoint Ultima Washing Machine, £100 to spend at Pro Bike Kit, tickets to see England at Wembley and Paloma Faith at the BBC, £150 in cheques and a kitchenaid stand mixerThanks everyone who posts :beer:0 -
I live on IOW.......the answer will be St Boniface Down

Ventor Downs, according to the National Trust website, are chalk downs.
http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ventnor-downs/
ETA: St Boniface Down seems to be part of Ventnor Downs. As Ventnor seems to be part chalk, part not, I am going with Funkysal and Street_Searcher's suggestion of St Boniface...0 -
Oh gosh looking at it it could be Ventnor downs, Rew down, Bonchurch Down, St Boniface down.....all of these are either in or close to Ventnor ........but not Culver.0

Maybe spell HAMBROUGH right in the subject for extra brownie points......you never know if they might be fussy about how you spell it ? Lol.
