Debt company constantly calling my mobile but not for me

I keep receiving text messages from different companies asking me to call about making payments which i just ignore as its obviously not for me as i dont have any debt. However they are constantly calling me to. I think someone has given them my number instead of their own. Does this affect me at all regarding credit ratings? i mean i know the debt isnt mine but these companys are harrassing me every couple of days. Please advise?

Have you changed your number recently? this may have been some elses no, if not I would reply that you are not the person they are looking for or they will just keep trying to make contact, same thing happened to me and I told them no.... I am not that person and it stopped good luck tho its annoying

Ive had this number for about 10 years. I think someone has deliberately given out my number instead of their own to avoid the nuisance calls. Which is why i am abit worried what else they can get away with?

No - it doesn't affect you in the slightest. My number is quite memorable in my city, and have had it for 35 years. I get around 50 calls per annum from DCA's chasing errant debtors who gave my number as theirs.

It is a bit of a hassle to deal with when a new wave commences, but it certainly did not affect my CF in any way - possibly helped by them not knowing my name or address.

There are apps for smart phones which can block spam calls available, I believe.
