Are washing machine and dishwasher fittings the same?

Options
Hi all

Am moving into a house where the current owners have a dishwasher in the kitchen and the washing machine outside in the garage. They are taking both these appliances and we don't need a dishwasher, so I am hoping to put a washing machine inside instead. Will this actually work though or are they very different in how they are connected? If I just ordered the washing machine from somewhere like Currys would it be simple to connect, or will some of the pipes need changing?

Thanks

From memory they all use a standard fitting for the water inlets etc.

I know when I redid the plumbing in our kitchen I just bought two of the same connector to do the Dishwasher and the washing machine.

A new washing machine normally comes with the cold inlet pipe inside the drum ready for you to connect, yes they are the same ;)
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
