Travelling distance and NMW

    Looks like its time to move then. I hate travelling to work, I always move as close as possible. Granted if you are talking about London then it is more than likely not possible.

    In my car that'd be £12/day on fuel. Then there are the car running costs, so round it up to £20.

    Single, living alone, it wouldn't be doable in the medium to long-term because once the car needed fixing that'd be the end of it......

    But then NMW doesn't even cover my basic rent and basic bills and CT. Before I eat NMW would leave me £300/year short .... so I'd need to borrow £300 + car running costs + the cost of beans on toast 365x to even break even (if they supplied a free uniform and cut my hair for me).

    exactly and more than likely you will still be claiming housing benefit.
