Thanks Annie for the thread, 45 pages long, only read to page 12 but will have another read later and watch the video.

When will this rain stop but I prefer it to snow and frost as that freezes all the outdoor pipes and having animals it takes ages to defrost them or go around with water from the house.

Three apple trees, one medlar and one mulberry tree arriving next week, I should keep warm putting those in :)
  • Hello all, nothing much to report on my side due to it being dark when I leave for work and dark when I get back home :( though I did buy myself some more fruit bushes (2 raspberry, 1 blackcurrent, 1 redcurrent and 2 gooseberries) so hoping to get them up this weekend rain or shine :).

On the matter of the app thing, I use growveg on my computer (there is a small yearly fee) and find it invalueable!

I really must get out and clear my little plot - I did nothing at the back end of last year. Can someone nag me next week if I've not done it?
  • Bought myself a few potoato's last night to try, cost me a bomb in shipping because of where I live, so I'm hoping to save some and use them as seed next year fingers crossed!

How is everyone else doing? I'm waiting for the weekend so I can get up and do some more digging!

The first post has most of the info you need from memory, but it's an interesting thread to read.

:rotfl: Not going anywhere near the bottles idea.

Yep I should have taken a pic, I've had 3 that were dead straight, and the rest hitting something, and 1 forked which was no where near the straight lines. Still got 2 left, was hoping for a hard frost before I pulled the last 2 but no sign of one yet.

I've picked a good spot and got cat protection sorted to stop them from sending my seeds outside of their cones this year ;)

Annie. I trawled through last years thread and found this.
    On the 6/04/13 I wrote:-
    "Annie.
Did 27 holes and 3 seeds in each today. May do another half doz tomorrow after I cut the grass. Then get my Runner Bean canes and the pea net up. That'll be enough for tomorrow methinks. :)"

But, the magazines I read are saying, if it's not too cold, sow them now but I still have around 18 in the ground. I think I'll do mine about first week in March this year because thinking about it, I was probably a bit late because of the cold spring.
Just read on the net that Gladiator, which I think is the best, needent be planted untill April/May. So think I'll go with last years date.
