I have a claim against Norton Finance for a secured loan. I contacted the FCSC who told me as the date of the claim is one year before they can action anything claim?
I took the loan out in April 2004 and the date they told me they can only work to is Jan 2005. Norton Finance have since stop trading under that name.
Is there anything I can do? I wrote to the ombudsman who also told me the date I signed is to early for them to take action.
I feel sick as I feel totally stuck and not sure where I stand legally on making a claim. There must be something that can be done (I hope)
Thanks in advance and if its a no at least I ready for it now.

No.I wrote to the ombudsman who also told me the date I signed is to early for them to take action.
The FOS only deal with companies that are still trading and have assets. The FSCS deal with companies that are no longer trading or are in default. You have access to neither as it is pre-regulation.I feel sick as I feel totally stuck and not sure where I stand legally on making a claim. There must be something that can be done (I hope)
