TV with integrated Freeview

I think I am having one of those “senior” moments and cannot get my head round having a TV with integrated Freeview. Are you able to watch one channel and record from another?

I am under a bit of pressure to buy a new TV and I am trying do some research.

Many thanks for comments

No, you'd need a second digital tuner somewhere in the system to achieve that.

Having said that, an integrated TV will contain both a digital and an analogue turner, so you can record an analogue channel while watching a digital channel (and vice versa).

If you are recording the signal that the TV's freeview tuner is receiving then you will have to watch that channel.
If you are recording direct from your recorders tuner, you can watch any of your TV freeview channels.

If its not a new recorder it will probably only have the 4/5 terrestrial channels on its tuner to record.
The fact you've got a freeview TV won't let the recorder do more, it can only record what the TV is tuned to, or the channels it receives from its own tuner.
