connecting tablet to TV - HDMI?

Hi all, I have a tablet (galaxy tab 3) which I have recently added the netflix app to. I have tried to figure out a way of connecting it to the TV via my home network through DLNA. I have managed it for viewing pics, but with netflix content I don't believe it is possible as the vids are streamed, not downloaded. Am I right in thinking therefore that the only option is a micro HDMI to HDMI lead? If that is the case, then I will need a 10m one, in order to hide it around the room edge from the TV to my chair. They sell them for about £10 on amazon. Will there be any problem in the signal quality over a 10m length? Also, can anyone reccommend a lead, or make of lead, as there seem to be several with conflicting reviews. Thanks

Olias

Make sure you buy a quality lead rather than a cheap piece of crap.

Many people will tell you there is no difference, but they are the same people that are using their 1.5m lead as opposed to 10m as the comparison.

  • I've just bought exactly this type of cable from eBay to connect my Nexus 10 tablet to a Panasonic TV and it works perfectly. Went for a 5 metre 'Cablesson Ivuna' at about twelve quid.

Yes, get a 10m lead. It will work fine. You don't need a fancy gold plated rip off, but at the same time don't get cheap crap because it will break. Just check the reviews on the site you buy it from. I got a good one from amazon. This one is 3m but the seller may do longer ones

I should add, this one is gold plated but that is not the reason I bought it :)

Bought a 10m one for £6.50 delivered from ebay, only thing is, it's permanently connected, so quality of plug connections is not such an issue.

    p.s. also gold plated.:)
    Move along, nothing to see.

Could be wrong but pretty sure the Tab 3 (7,8 & 10), has no hdmi connection. If 8 or 10, then it does support mhl, so the mhl adapter would be needed and then hdmi to hdmi cable.
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j
