Improving credit score after IVA

Hi,
Last June I made the final payment on my IVA with my ex. I am now in full time employment as a nurse and I am looking to try to improve my credit score.

How is best to go about this?

Regards.

  • It would be a good idea to check your credit files to see that the IVA is correctly recorded.

You could apply for a Vanquis credit card see http://www.vanquis.co.uk/

The interest rates rates are horrendous so make sure you repay it in full every month!
  • Once you have credit checked yourself, you should make sure all defaults are dated around the time your IVA was approved, defaults will drop off after 6 years.

Your IVA should also be marked as completed but will continue to show for 6 years from the date the IVA was approved.

You can send a copy of your completion certificate to creditors if they are still defaulting you or have the account as active or the date in incorrect
