I don't know whether you have a large CAB near you with a Welfare and Benefits specialist but a visit to them MIGHT be useful.

You could give them permission to speak to someone at Tax Credits on your behalf and they MIGHT be able to speak to the team dealing with your claim and find out exactly what they are concerned about.

This MIGHT prevent a further delay if they want any other evidence about your claim.

The compliance team will only advise cab they are still dealing with your claim. I have dealt with many people this has happened to and they have ended up borrowing off friends and family in the interim. The only good thing is you will get a lump sum at the end. Think positive.

I would ring and ask to speak to whoever is dealing with your case, if the CAB can't help.

If that doesn't work, contact your MP, as that puts a rocket up them. It is ridiculous and unfair for the DWP or the Revenue to take this long to do simple claims.

Computers are supposed to make things quicker, but when I worked for them, in the 'manual days', we would never have been allowed to let a claim drag on this long.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
  • I received a letter from Tax credits last month (Nov) stating I had not earned as much as I predicted. I advised them that my old job in October and have started a new job 17.11.14. They took all the information and processed the claim. I have not heard anything since. I receive child tax credits, my salary is much lower than my old job and now I am struggling. How long will it take to resolve? I noticed on some posts that compliance is being looked into. Could this be the case for me.

Can anyone help? I have been advised not to ring tax credits until 24.14.14??
