how to clean a bag?

Options
I have one of the vinyl feel and look burberry bucket bag that cost a stupid amount of money. I decided to dig it out yesterday after making new year resolution no 1 to stop 'saving' stuff for best and never getting around to using at all. this resolution was brought on after bringing out some of my stock of toiletries and some of it deteralating. anyway the bag has gotten really smoke damaged and has gone a horrible shade of mustard where it should be a beige type colour. I have tried using wet ones to clean it but no success and I don't know what else to try can anyone suggest something?

Try a light scrubbing with stardrops or washing detergent, see if that helps.

Alcohol hand rub is a good cleaner, try on the bottom maybe first to make sure it doesn't damage as I don't think i've used it on vinyl before.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Can't you email the manufacturers and see what they suggest?

i have put mine in the washing machine in the past with no problem however it was a case of couldn't use them as they were and they were cheap ones so I just put them in to see what happened. Not sure I'd risk it with an expensive bag tho. You could try this page.

I had a similar problem and looked all over the internet and nothing worked. I bought a product called Uraid- I think - from Lakeland. It got a bit of the dirt off my bag so it might be worth a try as it says on the tub that its a miracle worker! My bag was very dirty from use, so this might just work for you. If not, it has cleaned shoes beautifully.

Could the bag be dyed professionally? If you phone Burberry thy might help.

I have used hairspray to clean marks from leather with good results, although gather that yours has discoloured all over so might notbe the way to go. I would not be happy with this happening after two uses....as someone suggested maybe making contact with the manufacturer is best way to go.
