Alright, that looks like a European model Wii, which is correct.

So, where exactly have you got the Wii connected to on the TV ?

It should be in an AV input, one with 3 Phono connectors - Yellow, Red and White. Probably only one of them on your TV.

Which model TV do you have ? I could Google the model and point you to what should be the correct input to connect the Wii to.

From your description of the picture problem, it might be you have connected the Wii to the Component input, which is 5 Phone connectors - Red, Green, Blue (for the video), Red and White (for the Audio)

I am sure that I have cable connected properly, I have moved them about jut incase but the yellow cable only works in one place.
I am hopin it is just the actual cable that is not of good enough quality for my size of tv!

    I found a manual online.

You have two lots of connectors - one lot on the back panel, and one lot on the side of the TV.

The Back Panel ones have the aerial, 2 SCART, 3 HDMI, 5 Phono for Component, 15-pin D-Sub for a PC screen etc

The Side Panel has the 'Common Interface' card slot, an HDMI, a USB, S-Video, the Composite and a 3.5mm heaphone socket.

So it is the SIDE connectors you need to be using :

From the bottom up, you have the Headphone socket, and then a group of 3 socket, coloured (going upwards) Red, White and Yellow. It is these 3 you need to be connecting to.

Problem sorted mate excuse my language but i am a complete ahole lol.
Long story short I got the wii on Christmas Eve and tried to setup about 11.30pm, stuck cable in correct side ports and next to the video port it says s video( which is the port about the video one).
Went into menu on tv and went to select a video which wasn't highlighted so I then presumed was back ports).
So I was looking at wrong source ! Low and behold stuck in again and put source to av and working !
Only thing is I can't get it to fit on my telly in widescreen, changed screen size to 4:3 their, but didn't have time to mess about yet

Thanks for your help much appreciated

LOL - glad you got it sorted. We have all done similar at least once ;)

For widescreen, check the settings on the Wii, in a similar place to where I pointed for the HDTV setting. There is an option screen called 'Widescreen' that let's you select 4:3 or 16:9
