Credit card balance transfer to different account

Hi everyone,


I am hoping someone can help me please as I can't seem to find this information anywhere online?!


I have a credit card balance that I would like to transfer to another credit card that my mum will be opening. Am I able to transfer an existing credit card balance to a credit card with a different account holder name please?

Usually you are if it's not the card from the same financial group. However, there were some exceptions that I don't remember.

I know credit cards that fall under the Sygma bank umbrella e.g Flybe and Creation credit cards stipulates that the card being transferred too must be in your name only.

it can be done but your Mum should be aware once the debt is on a card in her name. It is HER debt and no longer yours, while I presume you have no intention of shafting your Mum, should you chose not to pay, she will liable for it fully. It will be her credit report that suffer.

Santander is another group which specifies that balances to be transferred must be in the name of the main cardholder.
