Good morning everyone,
I'm new to this board but after calculating our total debt last night I've decided a new year equals a new start and I'm tackling this head on.
So PPI, I have no idea what, if any, I can claim back. I have not been great at keeping paperwork over the years but I have done a free credit report check and now have a list of all the credit I have had over the last few years. Unfortunately I have no account details for some of these and no idea if I have PPI with any of them.
Can someone advise of the best way to tackle this? I have found all the templates for claiming back on the MSE website but I think there's a stage I need to do before that to find out account details and whether there's anything to claim if that makes sense.
Can anyone advise please?

It's possible, depending on the age of the finance, that the institutions concerned may no longer have records but otherwise they should respond to your requests.
Remember, though, that it's not enough simply to have PPI. In order for it to be refunded it has to have been mis-sold to you. In your case, it's difficult to see how you can have any valid complaint reasons as you don't even know if you had any PPI.
It's a myth fostered by claims companies that Banks randomly applied PPI without the knowledge and permission of customers..0
