Bit quieter for me today, and not an NSD sadly since I needed matches for lighting candles and I insisted on getting OH a £2 case off fleabay to avoid scratching his new (but free) phone. However this is what I have done/will do

    -completed adpoints for the week
    -meet goal on swagbucks
-put £1 in £1 per day savings tin
    -took lunch to work
-make tea in accordance with meal plans
-use candles in front room rather than heating
-print uni work off at work rather than use home printer (tut!)
    -checked freepostcodelottery
-searched MSE for 0% balance transfer cc's but going to try calling existing cc tomorrow and see if they'll extend the 0% term
-collected maternity leggings from @sda and didn't buy anything else while in there (for me, this is a big thing lol)
    -checked online banking
-searched MSE for most profitable recycling place of OH's mobile, printed free postage label and put in jiffy bag ready for freepost tomorrow
-use a GHD repair service for £15 rather than get a new pair (that would cost £80-£100)

    xx

    - Discuss with OH about how we are paying for dropped kerb, probably half each

Have a nice relaxing evening with DD, OH and DSister

Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • Hi everyone

Not the best MSE day today, but some good stuff & some less good stuff
    1. Paid £30 for physio treatment, so not SFD today :( not ideal on the financial front, but desperatley needed & will help in the long run (as long as I continue with my daily exercises). Paid in cash from proceeds from teaching fund.
    2. Paid £24.56 for new waterproof trousers for teaching - paid in cash and will count as an expense as I'm self-employed (receipt kept!).
    3. No other spends :j even though I spent last night trawling t'interweb for a cheap break for DH bday in March, plus a craving for Diet Coke, which I'm trying to drink less of
    4. Checked Free Postcode Lottery
    5. Updated spending diary
    6. BLD from stores
I think that's all I can report today! I'm off to do some marking, ready to return to work on Monday (wish me luck!)

Hiya WelshWoofer - nice to see you back on here. I've been a bit of a lax poster recently too... I'm moving over your way soon - started a new job (30 min tram from city centre) so hoping to move a bit closer - currently on a 4-hour round trip per day

Lulabelle - don't beat yourself up - just start again from tomorrow. Is there anything you could sell to recoup some costs perhaps?? Also, dunno if this would be for you but I keep my work shoes in work and walk to work in trainers - my work shoes last for years because of it...

Me? I've been quite impressed with my little old self today - Decided I would fake away and buy pizza from the supermarket. Then got home and OH had cooked a fab curry with stuff we had in. Also, at the supermarket instead of getting the £10 meal deal I got meat on 3 for £10 instead and now I've done a meal plan for next week. So, for £20 total spend (i.e. what I would've spent on domino's) I've got next week's dinners sorted. :T Just need to make sure I've got enough in for lunches and we'll be laughing :A
  • evening all!

will post more fully tomorrow, not been a bad day, running a bit low on funds but should get expenses payment soon. I have got my OH to agree to consider a household budget so will be looking at that tmrw. This s progress! xx
