Having lived most of my life here, I believe almost anything, both of our politicians and the !!!!!!. Thankfully, there's still a core of decent solid citizens despite their interests and rights being constantly eroded and diminished. Thankfully, also, I'm of the older generation so I'll be getting off this miserable planet before it becomes unbearable. I don't envy the decent young people of today.

You're absolutely right. Most people in this province are decent people. We've had to suffer the indignity of having our lives ruined by a criminal minority for such a long time now it almost seems like it'll never change.

I'm an optimist however and I think things will change for the better but we need to rid ourselves of people like this who take advantage of the less fortunate.

What made me laugh on the local BBC news last night was the footage of Peter Robinson and his entourage doing the decent thing by visiting the areas most likely to be affected by the floods. Some fishwife screamed at them - "where were yous when we needed yous to fill up sandbags for us!" :rotfl:

I guess some people just expect a little too much from our First Minister eh?

BTW, for what it's worth, I believe the decent young people of today are the ones who will eventually turn this place into one where ordinary people can live alongside each other and sleep safely in their beds - God speed them to do so. :)

If you think that you're living in cloud cuckoo land!

The dregs of humanity that belong to these organisations and indulge in criminality of many sorts apparently largely untouched, need to be dealt with by the full force of the law. It's becoming almost m-a-f-I-a like here and unfortunately many of our current raft of politicians appear to be uncomfortably close to the "m-a-f-i-a" element.

Welcome to Cloud Cuckoo Land then Al, because that is what I believe.

My glass is half full - not half empty. :p

As for your comments about the "dregs of humanity" etc - I fully agree and I wonder, like you, why the police and judiciary haven't clamped down on these undesirables. The only reason I can think of as to why they haven't is that the "dregs" can drum up enough support for street protests and violence which, no matter whether the police can control it or not, will give the impression of a breakdown of law and order in Northern Ireland which, as I'm sure you'll agree, would harm the prospects of every person who lives here.

When the glass is half full of something nasty - I'd rather it was empty instead of full! :rotfl:
