Returning Faulty Xmas Present

My Mum bought me Champneys massaging slippers from Boots for Xmas. But when I put in the batteries only one of the slippers works. My Mum kep the receipt and gave it to me so I can return them. She said she had made a point of asking for gift receipts but this one doesnt say anything on it about it being a gift receipt - and it was purchased back in October. Im going to Boots at the weekend but does anyone know where I stand on getting a refund? I probably wouldnt bother about getting a credit note either as long as I can get something else. I cant see these slippers being available any more as they were probably in their half price sale and Im not sure I would want an exchange on something that is faulty.

There has to be a joke about "where you stand" - just not in the slippers
You are still well within the warranty period of the item so returning should not be an issue. I am sure Boots will replace them or give you a credit to the amount on the receipt so I would say thee is nothing to worry about.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
