I have my isas with nutmeg and my wifes are with Hargreaves and lansdown - with all the changes with rdr is there any fund management platforms that are better than the rest? - I still don't know how Hargreaves and lansdown are going to charge - we are happy to split our risk with isa holdings -mine going into nutmeg who make the investment decisions and we make them for my wifes holdings -we are going to compare performances for the next 12 months and see which one wins.
any expert advice on which fund management platforms are coming out tops would be gratefully received -thanks all

My view is that whoever comes out top will not be there for too long, the other platforms will (as now) always be adjusting their pricing to meet their particular market demand. For me it is not all about cost, I want good quality reliable service and for that I am currently with Hargreaves Lansdown who quite a few here seem to dislike quite a bit. It really is a case of one size does not fit all imho.0

Also, it could depend what you are investing in (funds, shares, mainstream/exotic), how you are investing (lump sum, monthly contributions), and or whether it is a SIPP or an ISA or unwrapped.0

As a side note, there's been quite a lot of debate on the forum on whether nutmeg offer a value-for-money service. It may be worth searching the forum to see what has been said previously on this company (and therefore whether they're 'right' for you. They may or may not be, depending on how you use the service).0

Personally I would wait a few months and review the post RDR charges then make any move. I would probably recon on putting both sets of isas on the same platform to ease management. I know nothing about Nutmeg - but I prefer making my own investment decisions so I don't think they would be my cup of tea.
12 months of returns wouldn't make a very useful comparison - are the risk profiles even similar?0 -
I have been with Fidelity for years, and I keep looking around and I don't move. They have a premium service for which you only need £100k invested, which gives you discounts off the TER/OCF etc. and their support is UK based and knowledgeable.

I have had an excellent experience with HL for the past five years. They've done everything I've asked and always done it promptly and efficiently. What's more their staff seem to know what they are doing which is encouraging.
I've no idea what their new pricing will be like but as long as it is competitive I'll stick with them0 -

To be fair, you would find the same said with most platforms. Platforms have the advantage of being small scale, with a limited product range and modern systems that allow them to beat many of the old fashioned providers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
