Buyer wants to measure up

If they have come back several times it might also mean they are having second thoughts. They may have seen another house and now they are doing the whole "did I make the right decision" thing.
In any case if you can accommodate it I would. If you explain about the exams etc they should be happy to do at a time that is convenient for you and to be quick.0 -
It's never advisable to take on too many stressful life events at once - passing exams and moving/selling houses being one such example! I do feel for you, but at the same time as others have said, your buyers are spending a lot of money on your house and it is sensible (and nice!) to try and accommodate them as far as you can.
I tend to agree with this post.
None of the above is down to your sellers - you presumably (?) chose the timing of the house sale vs the exams, and to penalise or antagonise the sellers isn't really fair on them.
Even if you didn't choose all of the stressful elements (and I take my hat off to you for the caring element, which of course you didn't choose) then I would do as others have suggested and accommodate them for a single appointment through the EA.0 -
But then...I'm guessing that OP only mentally scheduled in the time for 2/3 viewings and there was enough time for that. But the buyers have run into "extra time" and are therefore taking up OP's study time when they weren't expected to.
No idea of how time/energy is being used on being a carer...but I am guessing that that is maybe also taking up more of both than was envisaged. Perhaps there have been emergency situations there and that's thrown OP's schedule out too.
I presume these extra visits from the buyers are proving a last straw and meaning that there isn't enough hours in the day. Something has to give...and it had better be those buyers expecting more time.0 -
If they've had that many visits then, even if they haven't got to Contracts Exchanged time yet, then I would say they are pretty emotionally invested in completing the purchase and can safely have OP find a tactful way of saying "You cant have any more of my time, because there just ISNT any more time there for you to take quite literally".
The buyers may be "grown-ups" after all. Personally, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that they were mature enough to understand good reasons (like an exam to do and caring to do..on top of whatever-else is going on in OP's life like a job and Having A Life). If they aren't mature enough to be reasonable when its explained to them then its not down to OP ..
I must admit the thought would cross my mind in OP's position that "If they are going to throw toys around and stamp feet in a 2 years old type tantrum when they have had the explanation given to them about caring/exam/etc then I'm doing them a favour helping them to grow up. Someone is going to expect them to act like grown-ups somewhere along the line and it just happened to be me".
I wouldn't assume they are "looking for problems". I would just assume they are being thoughtless.0 -
I would have a major problem with this. The measurements are on the paperwork from the agents arnt they?
Measurements for doors? Windows? Ceiling heights? Distances between exposed beams? etc etc.
We are going back for a 'measurements viewing' next week and theres alot of ones we need which wont be on any plans or documentation.0 -

Plus you trust the estate agent's measurement at your peril. When we were looking to buy we saw houses which were marketed by more than one estate agent and each had completely different measurements given in the particulars.0
