Accounts not coming up on my report

Hi there,
I took out a Vodafone contract on June 23rd in 2013. I have been in contact with Vodafone and I have just checked my credit report and it is not coming up at all. When I spoke to them they confirmed that it is being reported. What is there that I should do. They confirmed my address, name and DOB so I don't understand why it is not coming up. I have another 3 mobile contact which I took out on the 30th November and that hasn't come up yet.
Just wondering what I should do.
Thanks,
Andrew

Which credit reference agency have vodaphone told you they are reporting to?
Have you checked your credit report with all 3 agencies?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Yes it is a mishmash of uncertainty as to who notes it and who doesn't (and whether they actually do anything useful with it before they sell it on). I recently suffered a fraudulently opened credit card in my name with a card provider I've had accounts with for years, who accepted a totally incorrect date of birth and details of a third party's bank account with another bank!
I have an alert service with Equifax but they seem to not have received any details from the card provider.
The other two CRAs, Experian("CreditExpert") and CallCredit("Noddle") were however both notified, and Experian even knew the incorrect date of birth but did nothing about that either. The first anyone realised about the fraud was when I received an over credit limit charge notice (standard £12) from the card issuer and called them to ask what it was about because I was never over limit.
From reading around the subject and looking at the differences between reports of all three, I would say that CallCredit is the most promiscuous. It seems to me they receive and sell more raw data from/to more people than the other two. They perhaps do not charge people like Vodafone or banks or anyone in fact much or anything at all to receive data, and they make money by selling it in bulk to almost anyone (e.g. Payday Loan companies).
I don't think they care how they grow their business. You can access your report from them at www.noddle.co.uk for free now. They used to charge £12 but now it is completely free. To login first time, you'll need a credit card for verifying yourself and then have to answer security questions such as the dates you opened certain accounts (could have been years ago). Don't be tempted to give them any more personal data though once you have the account working.0 -
Thank you for that. I have checked my Noodle report today and it is not coming up on there. I have checked Experian but it is not coming up on there either and I have never checked Equifax. I will check them all again soon. Do I need to get in contact with Vodafone again and or 3 to tell them to check into it or do I need to contact Experian, Equifax or Call Credit?
Thanks.0 -

I don't think contacting the CRAs ever achieves much other than if you satisfy their procedures in requesting incorrect data be corrected. Absence of data doesn't seem to phase them. I think it is just a game where they win some or lose some as far as new data is concerned. They seem to treat the business of acquiring it like an auction, and if they can get it cheaply then great, else maybe one of the others bid higher and got it.
CallCredit as the "also ran" in the UK three, is perhaps currently satisfied with obtaining cheaper data that is older and selling it easily to people like payday loan companies in order to swell the coffers for gradually making inroads into purchasing newer data or convincing providers they are worth it. Who knows?0 -
BrookesAndrew - if you drop us a line we'll see if we can work out why the information isn't currently appearing on your Experian credit report. A mobile phone agreement can certainly provide a helpful boost to your credit history so we would like to help you get to the bottom of this.
Thanks

While you are on the subject of Communications Suppliers entries today, James, can you tell us whether my rough assessment of Experian currently not being the most up to date of the 3 CRAs for 3 mobile data was in any way correct? In my case, it looks like they stopped giving you new agreement data in 2011, although you still have up to date data on the one contract that pre-dates 2011, and contracts which show as "settled" but were replaced with new in 2011.
And I do hope you will have some general good news for us on the general date of birth clean-up front very soon
I'll be posting my own Experian dob clean-up status report later on as usual. Wasn't looking too promising half an hour ago, but we live in hope don't we?0 -

Still haven't heard anything from anybody. I suppose because its not being reported on my file I could just not pay it and get a default or make loads of late payments. I am not going to do this but surly if its not being reported then somebody could do this?0
