I am going to be made redundant, however we have been told that it will be a phased redundancy from end of feb.
My wife is still going to be working, and I will be able to claim JSA as i have been working for last several years. We have no other income and our property is mortgaged.
The gov benefits checker suggests that we will be also able to claim working tax credits as my wife earns around 18k per year?
I will be receiving an enhanced redundancy package which i have worked out to be around £6k (plus my share saves which will come to around 8-9k)
I know that nobody apart from the benefits people will be able to that i am entitled to XXX and also how does one go about applying for benefits? (DY5 area) I have also been diagnosed with Cancer - would that affect it as i can manage day to day but I get fatigued very easily? I don't like the idea of being on benefits but its a needs must situation until i can get another job?

You may also be eligible for council tax relief and housing benefit and also free NHS prescriptions, etc.
When I was out of work for a brief period the person who took my JSA claim advised me of any other help I may be entitled to.
