All ticking along very well in TYO household and by all accounts (ie. my sums on a bit of paper!) we should be able to be almost MF in theory if not in practice by the end of 2014!!:j:beer::D
Nice to see you posting, even if you can't manage it very frequently.

Hey newgirly

Sorry for such a late response to this - have been AWOL
No real plans for MF-ness other than perhaps a few of these :beer: and then saving for a house! So it will all begin again I should imagine! I will certainly be around for some time to come!
Have been quite spendy lately on various things including "I'm not quite sure what"
MrTyo is being very well fed you will all be pleased to know (sent him off to work with a lovely packed lunch this morning! :A)
Still looking at MF date of hopefully the next few months (by Xmas at the very latest) and then the re-jigging of monies and saving can begin again!
Work has been a bit stress-y lately , and similarly to those in teaching here have said I am hoping for early retirement (I still have well over 30 years to hit retirement age unfortunately tho!) - MF will come a close second tho!
In MF-efforts lately have managed to...
*Do some shopping at Lidl and be more disciplined in cooking/using what we have in.
*Booked a MS for next week earning a whopping £60 - straight to the MF pot.
* Stopped buying so much junk food (good for the mortgage and the waistline!)
*Will put in expenses claim this week £100+ into the pot.
*have found a few CD's etc.. which could be sell-able ...not sure yet but will give it a go!
Hope all are well and have a good day
Almost the middle of the week !

Greetings MF friends

I have re-found my diary .... and my MF motivation after some very spendy months!!
MF fund currently doing well tho and all being equal still hoping for a xmas pay off date! :j:beer:
Buuuuuut.... this does mean sticking to frugality , and on that note I am proposing a £100 p/m food budget for the next 3 months to use up the things we have in the house and try and be a bit more healthy and buy less junk/alcohol. I may even try alcohol free for a month... but that might be pushing it! lol :rotfl:
So far out of that budget £18/£100
No other huge moneysaving plans - have a box of clothes/some dvds and CDs which might be ebay-able - trying to muster up the energy to do anything about it at the moment is hard tho!
Maybe when the weather gets colder that can be my xmas- spending-money-stash!
Off to read some diaries for added inspiration methinks!
Hope all are well

Hi tyo glad all is going well and you are still on track to clear it this year  £100 pm for 3 months sounds like a scary food budget though, best of luck

HIya TYO, good to see you, I am eating out of the freezer and garden, went slightly wrong yesterday when I bought a leg of lamb for half price in W***rose. Just about managed to cram it in, also I am picking peas and beans from the garden with greengages and apricots for treats...........still would MUCH rather have chocolate. What happens once you are MF? Do you start again?0

Hi all, hope you are all well! Tootallulah once we become MF it will be a save up for another one sadly
We are currently living in a 1 bed flat so are hoping to pay this mortgage off asap, then save like mad but earning interest this time instead of paying the bank 4%! Although interest rates are far from great! I even found a penny at the back of the cupboard, was going to save it for a penny sweet one day but i would like a nicer cupboard aswell... decisions decisions! We did survive on £100 a month for food for a while but that was with dedication shopping planning, rather than working, rushing around and grabbing nearest thing! 0 -
Hello MF friends
Had to have a hunt again for the diary but had to share the excitement of being al most MF !!!!! Woo
Mortgage actually stands b at around 16,000 but with 2 emergency funds which total just over this amount (but are un touch able for a year we v haven't done it literally yet!!)
Next step will be saving 120k or so we will need if we wanted to buy a house and hoping prices don't rise quicker than savings as v they were doing when we first bought . it has been an amazing journey so far and we are far from done yet!!! Celebrating this momentous occasion by both drinking tea rock and roll in tyos house tonight!!
Next goals are to re focus on cutting down food spends and make sure were on best deals for things ( my phone and new found latte addiction both things I will need to focus on! ) plus finding some decent savings rates for the house fund!!
Hope all are well looking forward to catching up with everyone diaries soon
Tyo x0
