MSE News: Energy cashback saved from total Ofgem ban

What difference does that make to anything here?
(Or do you have a vested interest in dissing the CEC's service, bearing in mind your own association with the company who's name cannot be mentioned outside its dedicated thread which never appears as a recommended company to switch to?)
The CEC does point this out to all its members:
cant stand utility warehouse so dont see your pointDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Let's not forget MSE is essentially an affiliate website first and an advice website second.
It makes money from every switch, so it's no surprise it fought the change.
Judge every switch on the total cost and not the presence of cashback (no matter who's paying it).
And don't forget to monitor how much the energy company (a) takes on your direct debit and (b) fines you if you leave too soon. These are the two dangers of constant switching that nobody ever seems to mention.0 -
. . . and ignore any "savings" the comparison sites claim - there is a high probability that the savings claimed will be inaccurate (mainly because you are not likely to get the same rates again if you were to stay with your current supplier).. . . Judge every switch on the total cost and not the presence of cashback (no matter who's paying it).
Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
