Parked in an empty part of the supermarket car park today, and came back to find a huge dent in one of my car doors. Looks as though someone parked next to me, failed to control their door as it opened, possibly it got caught by the wind, and it hit my car.

Of course the swine scarpered and didn't leave their details.

My car is too old to merit an insurance claim but I don't want to have to drive round with a very noticeable dent in the door.

Has anyone got any experience of these suction cup devices, or should I try to find someone who will sort it for me quite cheaply?

The dent looks as though it would suck out.
without pictures I'd say you can push the dent out by removing the door cards and pushing the dent out from the inside. there will be a crease in the door where the panel has stretched but it will look alot better then a dent

I have used the suction pullers but as has been said above, if there is a crease they won't work.. They only work effectively on a concave dent that is fairly shallow. Worth trying one because you are unlikely to make things worse.
If you have ever wondered why some people in supermarket car parks park far away from the entrance doors/trolley park/bottle bank as possible, now you know. Better to walk 50 yards, than risk the dings, dents and scratches.
better to use your fist and bang the dent, some times they just pop out
