  • Small payment on one of the cards for above said reasons £185/£1335

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Wow it's a long time since I made any real payments:eek: Just found £8 lurking in my Paypal account through, so paid that off the credit card, which brings me to £193/£1335. Holiday was fantastic but expensive so there are unlikley to be many if any payments to be made before pay day this month.

I'm hoping to make a far better effort next month as don't much planned or am I likely to be doing too much that isn't already paid for:T I do love my holidays but they are a major contributor of what got me in a financial mess in the first place and the main reason why I'm not debt free yet, still its nice to have the luxary of holidays without increasing the burden further:)

Glad you had a good holiday. You've got to live whilst clearing the debt, so if you managed without adding to it, then that's fab!

We too like our holidays :o Since our LBM we've been abroad 3 times although looking back if we didn't we'd probably be debt free by now :o
    Good luck :D

  • In a funny kind of way when you know you have a holiday coming up, you rein it in in other ways don't you:) We've had an expensive couple of months but next month shouldn't be anywhere near so bad so there might be some kind of progress:)

Lol my uni friends says I tell her everytime we meet up I'm on the case and will be debt free next year:eek: I will this year, there isn't much to go so it would be a poor excuse not to be. Does anyone else find that its been there so long it will feel a bit weird without it? Almost like a comfort blanket, maybe I should open a savings account in preparation:money:

  • Lol you will stress about not making 10% of mortgage overpayments a year:money:Mind you we did that last year and it back fired as it menat our monthly payment had to be reduced, apprently it would have been fine if we had paid just under 10%

Where are you going for holidays? We have a fund we save all our Quidco/lottery wins etc into. We are saving for a BIG trip, just we haven't decided where yet. Also hoping to get married next year so there will be plenty of expenditure:eek:

  • BF gave me back his share of the extras we put on my credit card on holiday so couple of small payments made totalling£37, so that takes me to £230/£1335. Hoping I'll get under £1000 come pay day, although I do have £150 to pay off the cards I use for work etc first and this doesn't count in terms of this challenge but obviously counts in terms of the debt if that makes sense.

You're doing so well. You mentioned that you don't need anything else, does that mean you have stuff to get rid of? Ebay could always help with increasing your overpayments.

Also sorry that your house is having issues at the moment.
  • Thanks! I probably have the odd thing I could ebay however it always seems more hassle than its worth, perhaps I'll list things on our work sale board when I get around to it:)

I really mean, that we don't have room for buying stuff for the sake of it I guess, one of the reasons I like nice toiletries, cos you use them up!

The house finally seems to have everything done for now, finally water tight as we've just had new doors and the breeze blowing through our bedroom is gone:T Even better the water levels locally seem to be finally starting to go down, so good news all round. Hope people haven't suffered too much damage when the waters reseed for those flooded.
