many thanks. i did email them (parking company Vinci) couple of days ago to explain ticket must have blown over and photo of the valid ticket. had no response from them, so as you advise i will wait and see, as they have my email address now so no reason why they should not revert. have a good day, cheers0
-
as expected, the scammers replied just now with exactly the same letter as on this forum earlier - ie they reject the appeal, sending me photos of the car and upside down valid ticket and info on POPLA, but with no verification code. do i write back and ask for the code, many thanks0
-
What do you mean by 'info on POPLA' are you CERTAIN there is no 10 digit 'verification code' and perhaps no form on the back of the letter? What wording is on the letter about POPLA then?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

o yes very sorry - at the back is the form and a 10 digit code printed in the boxes. so do i draft a response (with details excluded and post it here for some whizz like you to check). very many thanks indeed.0

Yep.
You are one of a few people who have nearly missed your POPLA code in recent days. Did they attach a separate form or is it printed on the back of the letter trying to hide it?
You need to find an example you like and can adapt, on 'How to win at POPLA' which is a clear link in the 'Private parking ticket? Newbies please read this first!' sticky thread at the top of this forum. Then post your draft here.
By the way which other thread mentioned 'exactly the same letter'? Has someone else missed their code & form?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

they emailed me only - as they dont have my postal address, as i emailed them with evidence of the valid (but upside down) ticket. the email attachment was a 4 page document popla info with the form at the back, which i did not see at first email preview mode on my pc. their standard letter is below, which is exactly the same letter as i had seen somewhere else in the forum, from another member who also had his ticket blow upside down in the same car park a few weeks ago; i cant find that letter now. i will draft a reply and put it here. many thanks
Thank you for your letter regarding the above mentioned Parking Notice which was issued to your vehicle on the
2013 whilst parked at the Adam Street Car Park.
The Adam Street car park is managed by Vinci Park Services Ltd on behalf of our client Land securities we manage the site as per the terms and conditions set out by the client.
On the date and time on question the enforcement officer had cause to issue a Parking Charge Notice as he believed that your vehicle was parked in breach of contract code 01 - parking without displaying a valid payment.
The main stipulations for parking at the Adam street site is to park you vehicle correctly within a marked parking bay, purchase a valid payment ticket and display said payment ticket on the dashboard / windscreen area of your vehicle.
As with any pay and display car park, the terms “PAY & DISPLAY” are both equally important and both have to be honoured in order for parking to be authorised.
Purchasing a valid ticket doesn’t automatically cover your parking; it also has to be displayed clearly in order to be deemed as valid.
It is the vehicles owner / drivers responsibility to ensure that a payment is clearly on display in the dashboard/ windscreen area prior to leaving the vehicle, so that it can easily be observed by our enforcement officers.
Having reviewed the circumstances surrounding the issuing of the above Parking Charge Notice, I am in agreement that the parking notice should remain and am in full support of the original decision to uphold this parking notice.
I have attached the photographic evidence in support of my decision to uphold the parking charge notice.
Payment at the reduced rate of £50:00 for the parking notice, will be accepted if received within 14 days of the date of this letter.
Should you remain dissatisfied with this decision, you may refer this matter to the Parking on Private Land Appeal Service (POPLA) details of which can are available upon the enclosed appeal form.
Please note that should your appeal to POPLA be unsuccessful, Vinci Park reserves the right to pursue the full amount outstanding as stated on the PCN, and will look to recover any associated costs in relation to the PCN in accordance with our terms and conditions of parking.0 -
ok, the main point here is that it tells you that you have a popla code and an appeal form
the code is 10 digits which you can check to ensure its valid and see when it started so you can tell when it expires 28 days later
your priority now is to write a popla appeal and get it checked on here before sending it in (removing any personal info of course) in good time so you do not miss that deadline around the end of this month0 -
That email is all a load of bull; changes nothing of course. Read the 'How to win at POPLA' link in the NEWBIES sticky, and you will soon see a decent letter!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

ok guys, as a newbie it is very confusing - there are links to so many threads and examples etc. how about this short and sweet response to popla
I am the registered Keeper of the above vehicle and I am appealing against above charge. I contend that I am not liable for the parking charge on the following grounds and would ask that they are all considered.
1. Neither the parking company or their client has proved that they have planning consent to charge motorists for any alleged contravention.
2. The parking company has no contract with the landowner that permits them to levy charges on motorists up to pursuit of these charges through the courts.
3. The signage at the car park was not compliant with the British Parking Association standards andt here was no valid contract between the parking company and the driver.
4. The amount demanded is not a Genuine Pre-estimate of loss; not least because a valid ticket was purchased that was displayed and was well within the tariff period.0 -
I suppose its a good starter
BUT
this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816165 is more like how it should look
just add anything you feel should be in there from yours, noting how it has bullet points and then the explanations of those bullet points
also remove whatever you feel should be removed
also, did you find and look at any VINCI ones from the coupon-mad sticky thread ?
if so, compare the winning ones to yours, then go with what is best
