Do Scottish Power charge to change DD amount?
Can anyone advise if SP apply a charge to change DD amount. I note this from their website...
"Reduce my payment amount
Please use the slider below to reduce your payment amount. A one off payment will occur"
The account is in credit by hundreds of £££.

No, the "What" signifies shock, I can't get into the website yet as I just moved to a house they supply. They had better not be up to all this sly stuff with the direct debits, because I will just pay the bill when it comesBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

SP have unilaterally increased my DD several times, even though there was no need. Phone calls saw the DD reduced to original point however SP would then raise the DD back back up again even though they admitted there was no accounting need for this.
Even lowering the DD back to the original point has resulted in a large credit, I found the above message whaen I visited their site earlier, hence looking to lower the monthly DD substantially.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Talk about sharp practice, well when I do sign up it will be to quarterly bills paid by me, when they ask why I shall tell them

Presumably what it is saying is that if you reduce the amount of the DD, it will only affect one payment, and then go back to the normal payment. If you want to reduce the DD permanently call them.0

I seem to be one of the lucky ones. SP unilaterally decreased my DD by 30% last month!
Probably means I am stupidly in credit. I will check when I next submit a meter reading...
Opposite end to all these sneaky practices!0
