Dial up box keeps popping up.... I'm not on dial up!

I recently changed broadband providers and am now with Sky. With my old broadband provider when you first turned the computer on you had to 'dial' the connection but it wasn't 'dial up' as we know it - it was definitely broadband.
I have uninstalled the old router and now when I turn the computer on broadband is automatically connected ie I don't have to click on anything but a 'dial up' box keeps popping up and prompting me to connect to orange dial up. I did install orange dial up when I first moved in and was awaiting my broadband line to be activated but haven't used it since my broadband was activated. I have looked in add/remove programs but can't find anything to uninstall or any option elsewhere that makes it stop popping up and prompting me and it's really annoying me now
Does anyone know how to make it stop?!
Thanks in advance for any ideas

Are you talking about when you use IE, or it does it on it's own? If the former, ie, tools, internet options, connections, never dial a connectionEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I'll just be merrily surfing away (connected to Sky broadband and using firefox) when it will just pop up prompting me to connect to orange dial up. It's timing seems to completely random, I just close the box down and then it will either not do it for an hour or so or do it again within 10 mins!0

check the ie setting, if it isn't that, have a look at start, run, msconfig, startup tab for orangie things.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

If you no longer use Orange dial-up, uninstall the Orange DUN in network connections. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I can't find the commands you suggest for IE, I'm using firefox so clicked tools, options, connection settings but there are no further options to choose how and when to dial up... Did start, run, ms config but there is nothing orangey there!

If possible I'd rather not delete the dial up option in network connections as if the broadband goes down at least then I can connect straight away via pay as you go dial up. It never popped up when I was using my old b/band provider this has only happened since I switched to Sky, I was hoping they could exist side by side happily ever after!
Edited to add: I found control panel, internet options, connections and have checked ' never dial a connection'. Keeping my fingers crossed it works0 -
XP?
Control panel, internet options, connections, is it set to never dial, and is everything in lan connections unticked?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks albertross, didn't see your last post but that's what I tried - hasn't popped up yet so think it may be fixed0
