  • So, I've finally received my POPLA code. I now need to use this to appeal. Is doing this as simple as replying with the wording here?

Thank you all again for your invaluable advice.

Nearly, but having had a stab at it, post up what you are going to send here and you will get enthusiastic checking - regulars have a reputation to defend!
  • The above linked letter seems to cover all of the bases, however I was thinking that it might be worth adding the following (and removing the relevant sections regarding Nandos):

Despite my request for Excel to provide me with "the 'manual review/quality check' records for that car park on that day, relating to the hour of arrival", I have received only the following statement:

"However we have checked our records and are unable to locate any ticket purchased that either matches or resembles your VRM XXXXXXX".

Since I purchased a ticket, it would seem that the records were either not checked properly or not recorded properly. Perhaps providing POPLA with full and unredacted records for all VRM's entered into the machine on the day in question would clear up this matter. Quite how the data provided would be proved to be full and unredacted is another matter.

    Thoughts?

Yep, have a look at this one I wrote a while back (ignore the Equality Act first paragraph):

You want to include the BBC link as it quote's Excel's own words about typos in car registrations. You can adapt what I said there and add your bit too.

  • Heard back a couple of days ago, the appeal has been allowed. Here's the details from POPLA:
    Reasons for the Assessor’s Determination

It is the Appellant’s case that the parking charge notice was issued
    incorrectly.

The Operator has not produced a copy of the parking charge notice, nor any evidence to show a breach of the conditions of parking occurred, nor any evidence that shows what the conditions of parking, in fact, were.

Accordingly I have no option but to allow the appeal.

    Christopher Adamson

    Assessor

Thank you so much for all of your help folks! It's really appreciated.
