I have just downloaded the free avast.
In my task barr it says.
avast on-access scanner 7 provider(s) total 6 running.
Does this sound right.
Got rid of McAfee. working on a new Dell laptop, windows home basic vista.
Will I have a firewall and what else do I need to be protected.
Many thanks.

That sounds fine.
Do you live in an attic?
Don't know anything about whether Vista has a built in Firewall. Maybe someone else will know.0 -
make sure your firewall is switched on in control panel, security center. and consider intalling ad-aware and avg antispyware, and do regular scans.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
