what if he did it this way to see if anyone had the nouse(sp) and drive to take up the rains and run the place.
no one did so no he needs to appoint a leader.
if this is a one contract business how much real decision making goes on that needs the boss, most of it is probably routine keep the cusomer happy within reason.0 -
well I did ask, I did out myself forward. Got shot down.
We have several contracts, but one main one that requires a lot of various inputs. Most of the management is about delegating. A bit like running a good ambulance crew.

Just be more professional and do the work you are paid for and get paid for the work you do! Favours are for family and friends - NEVER EVER do ANY business with a friend it always ends in tears.0

I decided to put a stop to it and I called the boss to ask for a meeting so we can ask questions. He refused. I then sent an email (very polite) from us all saying that we were feeling left in the lurch and could he explain whats going on.
His reply was rude, hostile and negative and told me to stop stirring things up!
I am so upset.
See, there is a lesson here. Don't worry about it! It's down to him if his company crumbles, just do whatever you need to do to earn your slice of bread.
Gone are the days when being proactive and trying to ease your bosses pressre would earn you recognition, today any member of staff who so much as offers the boss a tissue after a sneeze is looked at as a trouble maker.
Seriously, I've had loads of jobs and its the same everywhere I've worked. Keep your head down and just do the bare minimum required and you seem to be liked the most. Go out of your way to help or try to get them out of a fix and it comes back round to bite.
The road to hell is paved with good intention. You'd be wise to remember that!0 -
isnt it a shame though. I like to work well, I prefer to work as hard as I can and do a good job. But this is turning into a mugs game
