    whats the worst that can happen?

    they could take your account, points, and any pending payments away for using an app in the UK when they have not released a UK one yet?

    Amazon copied many kindle fire apps over from their USA site to the UK amazon... does not mean the apps are for use in the UK officially.

    It was asked on facebook a few days back about UK apps, and the answer was one is almost ready but of yet there are no official UK apps.

    personally, if you are brave enough to use it good luck to you while it lasts.

    I don't normally get involved with app stuff, but my thoughts for what they're worth.

    A lot of people go on about what is either said in a personal email to them or on Facebook. From a legal point of view, Swagbucks haven't got a leg to stand on if they dismiss someone's account over say- use of an app that is openly available on the UK app store because they claim it isn't meant for use here. If it isn't written in their T&C's then it isn't worth anything! Because not all users will have access to Facebook and not everyone will think they need to query something like this because the company should be aware of where their app is being posted. Furthermore, if they persist in changing their T&C's without sending an inbox email to every user, then again they haven't got a leg to stand on because it is their duty to inform users of any changes. Think about the types of emails you get from eBay or Amazon when they update their user agreements.

    Of course, that doesn't meant say it would be easy to challenge them because their tactics seem to be to ignore. But they wouldn't be able to ignore it if a user decided to go down the legal avenue.

    Therefore, I believe that a lot of what is going on both here and on FB is scaremongering.

  • Wise words Wizzbang, i totally agree with you...

    truth be told if i only had a few hundred bucks in my account then id carry on regardless. But being so close to the big payout I'm not taking my chances. The app is still on my Kindle and as soon as my account is empty again Ill start using it again and take my chances.

    100% with you there. It's not the users fault if it is not meant to be. That's something Swagbucks should be taking up with Amazon. And anyway, SURELY Amazon aren't daft enough just to copy and paste apps that wouldn't work in the UK. I mean, I've downloaded other apps that allow users to earn via their smartphone and it is pointless because they simply either don't work, or you see that the only available work is in the USA.

    As I said, the onus would be on the company to have it removed.

    Welcome

    What you should be doing is trying to earn 999 swagbucks for a £5 paypal voucher or 825 for a £5 Amazon voucher (I stick to paypal but that is just me). To do this you need a swagbucks account, set up a new email address don't use your personal one as you are likely to get drowned in spam. Create a facebook account linked to this address as quite a lot of offers want a facebook login . Add your new email address to your paypal account. Now create a swagbucks account using your new email - be nice and ask someone to invite you as they'll earn 10% of what you make at no cost to you.

    Once signed in follow every tutorial to the letter reading the instructions as this will get you lots of points.

    On the homepage www.swagbucks.com, you have a navbar at the top. The important buttons are "Search","Play",'Answer-->Paid Surveys", "Discover-->Special Offers" and "Discover-->Encrave"

    Search is self explanatory if you use it instead of google you randomly get awarded swagbucks, remember to click the next at the bottom of the result set a few times if you don't win immediately.

    Play is also easy enough. Play a "play for free" game twice and get 2 swagbucks with a maximum 10 points a day. This is where you should start.

    Answer-->Paid Surveys
    This is the portal into the survey sites and eventually is where you will earn most points. Only do the profiles (bottom right) initially.

    Discover-->Special Offers
    This takes you to the special offer walls where you can earn swagbucks by installing software, joining sites buying stuff etc. Initially stick to Peanut labs videos and super rewards videos until you are comfortable.

    Discover-->Encrave
    For some reason people don't seem to get this. But it is fairly simple initially at least. Once clicked the encrave activities list appears. Click on one and a new tab appears. Follow the instructions on the left hand side to earn swagbucks but never let the window lose focus (so don't check emails or stuff) or it will hang. (There are some tricks with encrave but wait until you are comfortable first)

    There are other things but I hope this explains the basics.

    Tips at the beginning are to do everything in one browser people think that chrome is best. if you do a survey, be honest as they will catch you out eventually. Don't download software or install things. Stay away from anything that wants payment or valid credit card details. Have a decent virus software and don't forget to explore.

    Read this thread especially the first post and QuackQuackOops has posted a lot about encrave so read her posts.

    I hope this gets you started

    Wow that was a long post I must be bored!
