havent told DRO we've moved

Options
We moved house 3 months ago and Ive completely forgot to tell the DRO people we've moved house. No only that Ive realised my husband who also has a DRO hasnt told them he got a new job 6 months ago with a higher wage.
Im so scared and worried to call them now and let them know this late.
Any experience with this?

Things happen, just let them know now. With all the fuss around changing job and moving house it's not too surprising that some things would have been missed until now. The key thing is telling them before they discover it in some other way, which indicates that you're trying to be up front with them, even if a bit delayed. It's the ones who persistently try to hide things who end up getting the harder lines.
  • Remember most jobs carry a 'probation term' some can be longer then 6 months duration and need to be confirmed successful so don't do anything in haste which you may later regret

From experience I started a new job last year with wages improved a year after the grant so quite later on, should have known it to be to good to last when a few months later I was laid of and was then unemployed I was grateful I didn't do anything stupid, I dread to think no don't want to imagine how or where I might be now if it had been taken back, whilst I was also grateful for during the hardest time of my life even though this maybe one of the greatest drawbacks to a DRO when circumstances change, really goes to show, in additional thanks to less haste I also gained employment again due to no CCJ's at this point with the DRO option taken so I'll have to say I'm glad I stuck with it even though at times it may have felt like the roughest ride

Whilst it may have happened to me regretfully at the 'right time', you really have to look after yourselves first and think of the all the cards life can deal you

However the regreful action in this case would be failure to inform the Insolvency Service of a positive change in circumstances as the OP is required to do under the terms of the DRO, irrelevant of 6 months probation being uncertain or not...

That being said OP, ring your intermediary (the debt advisor who did your DRO) first and go through a budget with them, they will try and get your budget to fit for a DRO so it will continue as normal...
