Think someone is using my address

Today bailiffs knocked our door looking for my old next door neighbour. I wasn't in at the time but my 2 grown up children informed the bailiff that this person used to live next door but that the house is privately rented. The bailiff asked if we had a contact number for the landlord of next door. My son said that I probably would have it and the bailiff left his name and contact number. My son then rang me and told me what had happened. I then rang the bailiff and asked what he wanted. He said the person he was looking for was registered at either our address or next door. I assured him this person had NEVER lived here but had lived next door for 6-8mths. I gave the bailiff the landlord of next doors number and the person he is looking for current address! The bailiff said he would remove our address from the file at this point.
I am concerned this person has at some point deliberately used our address. How do I find this information? I want a credit check done on the address rather than on a person. I obtained my credit check a few weeks ago and it only showed information about me. I hope someone can help.

No the " bailiff " was probably just a doorstep collector being naughty.
In this instance its worked to their advantage. You gave them the new address.
Your ex neighbour probably wont be so happy though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have had bailiffs turn up for previous tenants of my own address and my neighbours. When they turned up for the previous tenants they told me they had already done a check and knew the person didn't actually live at my address, but they thought I might know them and give them an address. Cheeky so and so lol!LBM Dec 2013 ~ DFD Sept 2016! It was bailiffs working for Bristow & Sutor. They are bailiffs in our borough as they collect council tax arrears and unpaid parking fines for the local council0

They have bailiff and dect collection services. So still may have been just a debt collector with no powers.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
