WinX DVD Ripper Platinum Haloween stopped working

WinX gave away a copy of DVD Ripper Platinum at the end of October, stating that it would be free provided you don't upgrade versions (ref. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013-halloween-giveaway/dvd-ripper/prweb11250422.htm).
I've tried to use it today, and if I try and open a DVD, it tells me that they've changed the registration process and I need a new key.
But I can't see how to get one.
Can anybody share a solution to this (excluding buying a new licence)?
