Credit card refund Navelar

I have been told by my credit card supplier, Santander, that I am not covered for a refund of the £195.00 payment I made to the now insolvent company Navelar as they were a third party in the transaction. My hotel booking was made by Navelar but the deposit was not paid to the hotel and my booking was cancelled days before I was due to stay at the hotel in question.
Is this true?
Many Thanks

It sounds on the face of it you can claim under Section 75 - look at this: http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1210607283847&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA1
When you call just ask them for the address to write to and write - a real letter.

I agree with the poster above. I would say that your credit card provider has misunderstood your claim. The hotel has not breached the contract, Navelar has (by not properly making the booking and paying the deposit as you contracted them to). You undeniably have a debtor-creditor-supplier relationship with Navelar.0
